Anche l’edizione 2020 del Festival di Hiroshima sarà ‘virtuale’

Riceviamo:

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the 18th International Animation Festival in Japan – HIROSHIMA 2020, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your continued cooperation with our festival.

Today, with our regret, I have to inform you that we had to decide to change the festival format and to reduce the scale of HIROSHIMA 2020 this August…

After due consideration and careful discussions, closely monitoring the situation of the corona virus outbreak, which we are not able to foresee when it will resolve, we concluded to refrain from holding our festival at the venue, as of course your health should be highest priority. We really regret that we will not be able to welcome you all in person to enjoy our festival, but
hope you kindly understand.

As for the competition program, we will start the selection committee from May 1st, and will be revealing those works selected for competition at the end of May. Also, by around early July, we plan to announce the international jury members on our official site, who will be deciding each prize online. We will be announcing the award winning titles at around the end of August.

In spite of this difficult conditions, I sincerely appreciate that we could receive so many entries from all over the world. We, the festival team, will be working hard continuously.

For more details regarding this format change, please kindly access our official site:

Please take utmost care of yourself. We truly hope that all of you stay safe and in good health.

Sincerely yours,

Sayoko Kinoshita
Festival Director
HIROSHIMA 2020
