Turner was an influential cartoonist and creator of “Wee Pals”—the first American syndicated comic strip with an integrated cast of characters.⁠ Morrie was a friend of Charles M. Schulz and even paid tribute to Peanuts in some of his own “Wee Pals” comic strips.
